How to Get Started

  1. Review admissions requirements.
  2. Complete online application and submit application fee via mail.
    • You will be required to provide your nursing license number on the application.
    • Please have your academic outreach partner code available.
    • If you are listing a former name on your application, include it in the designated space for former name.
  3. Submit official documents.
    • Request official copies of transcripts from all colleges or universities that you have attended since high school. There are two ways to meet this standard:
      1. Have the institutions send the transcripts directly to Ohio University
      2. If you have official sealed transcripts in your possession, you may mail them with your application to Ohio University. You do not have to provide any transcripts for any courses you have taken at Ohio University.
    • Transcripts should include verification that you are a graduate of a State Board of Nursing-approved associate degree or diploma program in nursing.
    • Send transcripts to:

      eLearning OHIO
      Ohio University
      102 Haning Hall
      Athens, OH 45701

    • Under Ohio Board of Regents requirements, students that transfer from one institution to another must provide an official copy of all attempted college-level coursework. This includes coursework that was not applied toward an earned degree or a specific curriculum. Ohio University strictly adheres to all Ohio Board of Regents policies.
  4. Apply for financial aid.
  5. Receive Communication from Ohio University.
    • After reviewing your application, Ohio will send notification of our admission decision to you via email.
    • The School of Nursing will review your previous coursework and will provide you a course map that lists which courses to take to expeditiously complete your BSN.
  6. Visit the RN-to-BSN Student Knowledge Center.
    • Nursing students will find links for the items they need most often, such as how to register, course offerings and their e-account, at the RN-to-BSN Student Knowledge Center.
